Logo Ideas 01.21.03 Purpose: Using Derek's simplified version of the Tree of Life, I came up with these three logo concepts. Please let me know which one you like best. Derek Hegsted Toupe Background 01.21.03 Purpose: On Derek's suggestion, here is a mockup with a Toupe background for comparison. Derek Hegsted Home Page Comp 01.20.03 Purpose: Went with a very clean white layout so the eye is focused on the artwork. I did not want anything on the page to compete with the artwork. The Derek Hegsted logo was created with ITC Galliard for "Derek Hegsted" and "FINE ART" is ITC Avant Garde Gothic the navigation is also ITC Avant Garde Gothic. The logo was derived from Derek's "Tree of life" painting, the tree depicted is of course the one in the painting. I wanted to logo to have an organic feel, much like a brush stroke, but I also wanted the logo to have a really communicate Derek's artwork, so when I got right down to it, the only way to make the logo completely "Derek" was to include his artwork. Derek Hegsted 2nd Tier Page, Gallery Image Example 01.20.03 Purpose: This screen represents how an image would be displayed to the user after they selected the thumbnail version from the general gallery view. I have included a secondary naviagtion along the top to represent the different galllery categories, allowing for quick browsing and site navigation.
